August 21

Pictures from the Passenger Seat – August

To beat the Texas heat, hubby and I headed north. Here’s what we found at Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT.

Beauty Cart
Isn’t it adorable? I’m going to work this into my Once Upon A Romance Series. It’s perfect for King’s Department Store, don’t you think?

First stop, Kimberly Rocha’s annual Beach BBQ at Lido Beach in New York. We had a great time with the Book Obsessed Chicks Book Club, readers, and authors!

BOC
Sunny with lots of new friends! Creative Crafts by Liz (Whelehan) made the quilt, had all the authors sign it, and donated it to a breast cancer survivor! Btw, Katie, Liz’s daughter and a sweetheart, is holding up the quilt.

Next, we went to New England to visit family and friends. We did grab a bite now and then. (Can’t get enough of our hometown favorites! Have you ever had a Del’s lemonade or Rocky Point Clam Cakes?)

Foods
We had to get a sausage grinder (sub in other people’s language), pepperoni pizza, clam chowder (a.k.a. chowdah) and clam cakes, and lots of other goodies along the way. Can you say, there goes the diet?

We did find a few landmarks and tourist spots to visit in Newport, RI and Boston, MA.

svne
Loved taking the trolley tour and seeing the spectacular mansions and breathtaking views in Newport. We toured the JFK presidential library and came away in awe at the simplicity and beauty of the place on the bay.

Last but not least we found some fun yard art in our travels!

Hubby and I love to find unique places, fun objects, and some beauties when we hit the road. And we love to share them with you, too.

Vacations are never long enough and, sadly, ours did have to come to an end. But, we already have a few in the works for later this year and into next year. (That’s the only way I know how to get over that end of vacay feeling. Hey, whatever works, right?)

Travel tip: Bring along a large accordion size whatzamagiggy folder to keep your travel paperwork in, divided into sections for plane tickets, car rental papers, hotel reservations, receipts, etc. It keeps all the important travel docs in one place and saves time from having to search through every pocket or zippered compartment in your purse, tote, or carryon. Make travel easy and fun and hopefully stress free!

Enjoy your travels! Hope to meet you along the way!
